David Cedeño in the Movie “El Cantante” with Mark Anthony & Jennifer Lopez
Within the entertainment industry there are two types of people; there are stars and there are artists. Being a star is something that occurs instantaneously and unfortunately for some, the height of a star’s success usually ends as quickly as it began. However, for an artist, their success is slow and coming yet they remain solid within the industry as someone with seniority and an admired respect. One such artist is David Cedeño. At the age of 14 David had already begun his path as an artist. As his career progressed, he wanted to share his passion with everyone. Together with his orchestra, David played a large variety of music such as Latin salsa, Latin jazz, meringue, ballads, and waltzes. Still believing that music was “made to be shared”, David rearranged some popular English hits by adding a Latin salsa beat while still keeping the original lyrics in English. These English titles that include Lady in Red, Will You Love Me Tomorrow, Somewhere, & Sealed with a kiss are definitely wedding music for your wedding band to play at your wedding. He has also been recommended as a 5 star wedding band by many bridal shops, wedding planers, banquet halls, flower shops, limousine service, bridal parties, wedding DJs & wedding bands outlets.
As a Latin musician, David’s success stretches far beyond the borders of the United States. In 1996, David Cedeño and His Orchestra were asked to share their Latin music in person with the residents of Japan. For six months, he was able to get in touch with a fan base he only heard about in letters and phone conversations. With his albums being distributed worldwide in such countries as Japan, Germany, Holland, and the Netherlands, it’s no wonder his success is what it is.
Now as the year 2006 waves goodbye, David can look back at a wonderful career as he continues to proceed forward into the New Year. His accomplishments this year include performing in the new movie “ EL Cantante” [The Singer] as a trumpet player in a “Fania All Stars musician “ scene starting Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony. The movie is scheduled to be released in early 2007. And of course, David has the release of his new album, “A New Return” (Un Nuevo Regreso) to look forward to in the year 2007. Since his last album was released 10 years ago, there couldn’t be a better title as a result of the long over due wait by his loyal fans.
Within this recording, David has out done himself. Besides arranging 6 tunes and composing 3 more, he is also responsible for recording all trumpets, bass, flugels, coros, and some guitar tracks. And to the surprise of his family, band members, and fans, he has also recorded the vocals for songs #5 “He Will Break Your Heart” and #7 “Quitame Esta Maldiscion”. However, David has not forgotten his English speaking fans. Also included in this album are 2 songs that have been recorded with his popular Latin salsa style toped with English lyrics. (Something he likes to call “English Salsa”.) David now releases his latest HD DVD video & CD titled “I’ll Be There” [A Michael Jackson tribute]
Needless to say, David Cedeño is not only a musician… he is, in every sense of the word, an artist. Keeping true to his fans, his peers, and his music, he has proven time and time again that he is here to share his passion for music and his ideas of creativity. And though his album is titled “A New Return”, he has already made it known that he is here to stay.
